Saturday, May 28th, 2011Arizona:
Arizona-licensed insurance professionals are reminded that they can renew their licenses up to 90 days prior to expiration and that licenses must be renewed by or before midnight of the license expiration date. There is no extension or grace period for a license that expires on a Saturday, Sunday or holiday. If the Department receives a renewal application after the license expiration, it must include the $100 late renewal fee prescribed by Arizona Revised Statutes § 20-289(E). For an individual, a license expires on the last day of the licensee’s birth month in the fourth year of the license. For a business entity, the license expires every four years on the last day of the month in which the license was issued. In order to encourage timely renewals, the Department currently sends reminder notices to licensees 60 to 90 days before the licenses expire.
Tennessee:
Pearson VUE, in cooperation with the Tennessee Insurance Department, has announced changes to the insurance pre-licensing education curriculum outlines. The announced revisions will be reflected on licensing examinations offered on and after August 5, 2011. Individuals preparing for an insurance licensing exam that will be administered on or after the announced implementation date are urged to ensure that their study materials reflect the most recent curriculum revisions. The new Licensing Information Bulletins will be available from Pearson VUE online at www.pearsonvue.com.
Oklahoma:
The Oklahoma Insurance Department will begin using State Based Systems (SBS) effective June 13, 2011. With the SBS implementation they will take the opportunity to implement several NAIC uniformity initiatives as well as the opportunity to streamline many of their processes. SBS also provides a wide array of online tools that allow producers to submit, view and print license information on a 24/7 basis. For more information on changes affecting individual and business entity licensing, go to http://www.ok.gov/oid/Licensing_and_Education/State_Based_Systems_Information.htm.
