Indiana:

Effective October 1, 2010 the Indiana Department of Insurance will no longer be mailing license renewal notices. Indiana Non-Resident Insurance Licenses will expire on November 30, 2010. To avoid late fees, license renewals must be completed electronically before this date. You will not receive a printed copy of your renewal notice or a printed license. To keep fees from increasing, the Department of Insurance is emailing renewal notices to eliminate printing and mailing costs. Producers can print their license from Producers Edge.

Every 2 years, at least 60 days prior to the renewal date of their license, persons holding an adjusters license shall be certified by the insurance department as having completed 20 hours of continuing education instruction. Licensees with workers’ compensation authority shall comply with the approved 10 credit hours of workers’ compensation and 10 credit hours of multi-line requirement.

Michigan:

Following a recent examination review workshop (ERW) it  has been determined that the Michigan Life and Variable Annuities (16-84) Producer combination licensing examination requires an update in content to adequately test for minimum entry level competence. Therefore, beginning December 9, 2010, all candidates for licensure as Life and Variable Annuities producers will be required to take the Life (16-65) and Variable Annuities (16-83) licensing examinations separately.  Candidates will be allowed to take the combination examination (16-84) through December 8, 2010. As of December 9, 2010, the Life and Variable Annuities (16-84) combination examination will not be offered while the examination content is under redevelopment. Candidates will be required to take the Life (16-65) and Variable Annuities (16-83) licensing examinations separately.
