Oregon:

The Insurance Division will soon discontinue paper renewal coupons to licensees. Instead, each licensee will receive an e-mail reminder that the license is due for renewal with instructions on how to renew this license. The Division encourages agents to complete their renewal application electronically through the National Insurance Producer Registry (NIPR), a nonprofit affiliate of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners. Although agents still must submit evidence that they completed continuing education requirements to the division, the division is seeking scanned copies of these documents. CE certificates should be faxed to 503- 378-4351, or emailed to web.insagent@state.or.us.

Iowa:

Pearson VUE, in cooperation with the Iowa Insurance Department, has announced changes to both the State and National insurance pre-licensing education curriculum outlines. The announced revisions will be reflected on licensing examinations offered on and after January 1, 2011. Individuals preparing for an insurance licensing exam that will be administered on or after the announced implementation date are urged to ensure that their study materials reflect the most recent curriculum revisions. The new Licensing Information Bulletins will be available from Pearson VUE online at www.pearsonvue.com.

Texas:

The Texas Insurance Department and Prometric have jointly announced extensive changes to the insurance pre-licensing education curriculum outline. The announced revisions will be reflected on licensing examinations offered on and after January 1, 2011. Individuals preparing for an insurance licensing exam that will be administered on or after the announced implementation date are urged to ensure that their study materials reflect the most recent curriculum revisions. The new Licensing Information Bulletins will be available from Prometric online approximately six weeks before the test update.
