Monday, April 26th, 2010FINRA:
FINRA is making changes to the process for scheduling exams and continuing education (CE) sessions through FINRA’s testing vendors—Pearson VUE and Prometric.
Beginning May 3, 2010, individuals may use either their CRD or Social Security numbers (SSN) to schedule an exam or CE appointment. Effective September 15, 2010, registered persons will be required to use their CRD numbers to schedule an exam or CE appointment. As a result, test vendors will no longer accept SSNs. Questions about this Notice may be directed to the Gateway Call Center at (301) 869-6699.
Florida:
The Florida Department of Financial Services has been notified that the FBI, which is responsible for processing all fingerprint information for federal background checks, will not be available to process any applicant fingerprints from April 28, 2010 through May 3, 2010. This is due to a U.S. Census Bureau project that requires immediate attention. The delay may create a three-week backlog once the FBI resumes normal fingerprint processing on May 4, 2010. License applicants who are required to provide a set of fingerprints will be affected by this delay. It is recommended they submit their fingerprints before this time to avoid a delay in receiving their license.
New Hampshire:
Effective immediately, the NH DOI has made an electronic option available for Non-resident adjusters who do not have adjuster licenses in their home (domicile) state. This option has been made available by State Based Systems (SBS) and is a supplement to the currently operational NIPR system which is used by all residents and non-residents who hold licenses in their resident state. The NH requirements for Non-Residents without home state licenses are that an applicant must take the NH Adjuster Exam or have six months experience as an adjuster. The link to SBS External Licensing system is on the NH DOI website under Non-Resident Initial Adjuster Licensing, and is provided here: https://sbs-nh.naic.org/Lion-Web/jsp/ext/login/UserVerification.jsp Currently, and through the end of CY 2010, NH requires Continuing Education (CE) of non-residents unless they are residents of any of the following states: AK, AL, AR, CA, DE, FL, GA, LA, MS, MT, NC, OK, TX, UT, WY.
