Effective January 15, 2010, the South Carolina Department of Insurance will start imposing a minimum penalty of $500 against all producers who have failed to notify the Department of an address change by December 31, 2009. South Carolina law requires producers, bondsmen, adjusters, brokers, physical damage appraisers and other Department of Insurance licensees to notify the Department of any change in address within 30 days. Some licensees are not complying with South Carolina law.
Louisiana:
Prometric, in conjunction with the Louisiana Insurance Department, has announced extensive changes to their insurance pre-licensing education curriculum outline. The announced revisions will be reflected on licensing examinations offered on and after March 1, 2010. Individuals preparing for an insurance licensing exam that will be administered on or after the announced implementation date are urged to ensure that their study materials reflect the most recent curriculum revisions. The new Licensing Information Bulletins will be available from Prometric online approximately six weeks before the test update.
