Massachusetts:

Effective January 4, 2010, Prometric, who currently maintains the continuing education database for the Massachusetts Division of Insurance, will stop using Social Security numbers to identify licensees in the reporting process of continuing education credit hours.  Continuing Education Providers will begin reporting continuing education credits via electronic roster submission, based upon the licensees’ Producer license numbers or Public Insurance Adjuster license numbers.

Michigan:

All resident and non-resident producers are required to take the Michigan variable annuities licensing examination prior to receiving the VA line of authority or the producer must have taken an examination in another State and maintain a reciprocal license in good standing. A non-resident producer who holds a variable life/variable annuities line of authority in his/her home State, may apply for a reciprocal Michigan line of authority.

Florida:

Florida announces that because of the computer system upgrades scheduled on November 25-29, 2009, there will be no access to any computer systems of the Florida Department of Financial Services’ Division of Agent & Agency Services during this time.  All license applications and new, terminated or renewed appointment transactions will be pended until the systems are brought back online Monday, November 30, 2009.  Applications for licensure submitted during or after this time period may not be processed for up to 20 business days after submission.

North Carolina:

The North Carolina Department of Insurance -Agent Services Division must receive terminations of adjuster appointments from ALL adjusting firms by February 1, 2010. Adjusting firms will be billed for those individuals showing appointed after February 1, 2010 on their 2010-2011 annual company appointment renewal invoice.
