Texas:
In addition to completing the required 8-hour small employer health benefit plan specialty certification course, in each reporting period following the reporting period in which a licensee completed the certification course, a licensee seeking to renew a small employer health benefit plan specialty certification must also complete at least five hours of department certified continuing education during each reporting period as part of the licensee’s continuing education requirements.
Nevada:
All insurance companies and insurance producers transacting business in Nevada are notified that the Division of Insurance will immediately begin to accept documents and notices submitted on behalf of insurance producers through the NAICINIPR Attachments Warehouse, which will allow for the electronic filing of insurance producer licensing- related documents. The Attachments Warehouse is a secure regulatory database which electronically receives, stores and shares licensing documents with the states that are submitted with respect to applications and/or renewals of insurance producer licenses through the National Insurance Producer Registry (NIPR), a non-profit affiliate of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC).
Idaho:
The Idaho Department of Insurance is sponsoring a free Producer Law Class 2010 at United Heritage, 707 East United Heritage Court in Meridian on Thursday, April 22nd from 1:30 to 4:30 PM. Topics addressed will include property/casualty insurance, life & health insurance, a legislative update, and what’s new at the Department. Minnesota:
Significant changes to the laws governing insurance adjusters take effect on July 1, 2010, these changes include the following: Insurance adjuster licenses will be issued with the following lines of authority: property and casualty, workers’ compensation, and crop; All current independent and public adjuster licenses will be converted to the P&C line of authority on 7/1/2010; Resident insurance adjusters will have continuing education requirements…Insurance adjuster continuing education will consist of 24 hours during each licensing period, at least 3 of those hours must be in a class or classes in the area of ethics; The license renewal date will change from October 31 to the last day of the adjuster’s birth month.
Arizona:
The Arizona Department of Insurance and Prometric, the State’s insurance licensing testing vendor, have announced extensive changes to the insurance pre-licensing education curriculum outline. The announced revisions will be reflected on licensing examinations offered on and after July 1, 2010. Individuals preparing for an insurance licensing exam that will be administered on or after the announced implementation date are urged to ensure that their study materials reflect the most recent curriculum revisions. The new Licensing Information Bulletins will be available from Prometric online approximately six weeks before the test update.
