Rhode Island:

 

Pearson VUE, in cooperation with the Rhode Island Insurance Department, has announced changes to their insurance pre-licensing education curriculum outline. The announced revisions will be reflected on licensing examinations offered on and after November 1, 2009. Individuals preparing for an insurance licensing exam that will be administered on or after the announced implementation date are urged to ensure that their study materials reflect the most recent curriculum revisions. The new Licensing Information Bulletins will be available from Pearson VUE online at www.pearsonvue.com.

 

Massachusetts:

Prometric, in conjunction with the Massachusetts Insurance Department, has announced extensive changes to their insurance pre-licensing education curriculum outline. The announced revisions will be reflected on licensing examinations offered on and after November 1, 2009. Individuals preparing for an insurance licensing exam that will be administered on or after the announced implementation date are urged to ensure that their study materials reflect the most recent curriculum revisions. The new Licensing Information Bulletins will be available from Prometric online approximately six weeks before the test update.

Idaho:

 

The Idaho Department of Insurance will be conducting a Produce Law Class for 2009, at no charge, on September 23rd from 1:00 to 5:00 PM at United Heritage, 707 East United Heritage Court in Meridian. Topics that will be addressed include: consumer complaint/property & casualty review, the Idaho individual high risk pool, Stranger Originated Life Insurance (STOLI)/life settlements, and a legislative update plus what’s new at the DOI. Wisconsin:

 

The Wisconsin Department of Insurance has announced changes to their agent licensing requirements that conform to the NAIC Model regulation. Changes include new lines of authority, self-study and correspondence course credit allowances to meet the prelicensing education requirement, and a resident fingerprint requirement. An additional change is to raise the agent application and renewal fees, and the annual company appointment fees. Beginning March 1, 2010, agents selling variable life and annuity contracts will be required to hold a variable life/variable annuity line of authority. Agents will need to hold a life line of authority and provide verification of required registration by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) registered for Series 6 or Series 7.
