Oklahoma:

Effective July 2009: At least two (2) of the continuing education credit hours of instruction completed by licensees each twenty-four month period shall be taken in state legislative update or federal legislative updates.

South Carolina:

All licensees are required by law to notify the Department of any change in address within thirty (30) days. Adjusters, producers, public adjusters, and brokers are reminded of their statutory responsibility to make certain their mailing, home and/or business address records with the South Carolina Department of Insurance are up-to-date. Licensees may be subject to administrative disciplinary action for not timely notifying the Department of an address change. More importantly, licensees may miss important response deadlines which could result in the suspension or revocation of the person’s authority to transact insurance business in this State. Individuals could be subject to administrative penalties up to $2.500 for each violation of South Carolina insurance laws. Effective July I, 2009, the Department will no longer accept paper requests for address changes. All notices must be submitted to the Department via the Internet.

California:

Effective July 1, 2009 the California Department of Insurance (CDI) will implement two significant changes that will affect both individuals and business entities who are licensed through its Producer Licensing Bureau. First, as reported earlier, CDI will be decreasing fees by six-percent for all insurers and insurance producers. Secondly, in keeping with the Commissioner’s strategic initiative to have 100 percent paperless interaction with agents, brokers and insurers by 2010, also effective on July 1, 2009 CDI will no longer print and mail hard copies of its licenses. Instead, individuals and business entities will receive an email with instructions and a website link to download their license from the CDI’s website.
